BATTLE CREEK, MI-  The Battle Creek Bombers are excited to welcome Ben Curtis and Steven Perkins to the Bombers media staff for the summer. Curtis and Perkins will serve as play-by-play announcer and color commentator for all home and road games this season.

Ben Curtis – 

Curtis is a journalism major at the University of Maryland-College Park and Philip Merrill College of Journalism. While at Maryland, Ben has covered a variety of sports, including men’s and women’s soccer, women’s field hockey, women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball for the university’s student-run radio station WMUC. He has also served as an on-air talent for Big Ten Student U. In the spring, Ben worked with the Maryland Baseball Network to cover University of Maryland baseball. A lifelong baseball fan hailing from Boca Raton, Florida, Ben is eager to work alongside an exceptional staff team, to connect with the Battle Creek community, and to share the story of the Battle Creek Bombers’ 2019 season.

 

 

Steven Perkins- 

Perkins is a Junior at Miami University in Oxford Ohio where he works as the Student Radio’s Sports Director. Perkins calls play-by-play for the RedHawks’ ice hockey, basketball, and baseball games as well as co-hosts a podcast focused on Miami sports. On campus, he is active at the ice rink where he plays intramural hockey and coaches a team in the youth travel program.
