The Battle Creek Bombers dropped another on the road to the Kokomo Jackrabbits, this time to a score of 4-2. Kokomo jumped out to a lead in the third inning and did not look back.

In the bottom of the third with a runner on second base, Jackrabbits catcher Ben Livorsi singled to right field scoring the Jackrabbits first run of the game.

Battle Creek did manage one run in the top of the fourth after Caleb Balgaard doubled to lead things off. Balgaard stole third in the next at bat and later in the frame with two outs the newest Bomber Trace Peterson singled to drive in Balgaard.

Tied 1-1 in the fifth inning Jordan Rhodes hit the first batter of the inning to put one on first. Later that inning the Jackrabbits sparked a two-out rally with a single, a walk, and another single. Rhodes would end his night allowing four runs, three of which were earned as well as six strikeouts.

The middle of the game would move quickly as both teams’ relievers threw strong outings. Ping-Chun Ho for Battle Creek threw two scoreless innings allowing one hit and giving up one walk, but pairing that with four strikeouts. The two teams would combine for 24 Ks.

Battle Creek would score one more in the sixth to bring the game back within reach but would not find pay dirt again after that.

After falling short 4-2 tonight, Battle Creek will face off with Kokomo again tomorrow at home at 7:05 p.m.
