BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Battle Creek Bombers are happy to announce the return of Seth Tucker, Michael Morisette, Jack Merrifield, and Trace Peterson to the Bombers’ roster.

RHP/UTL Seth Tucker, 5’10”, (R/R), Junior, Hendrix College

Tucker returns to the Bombers as a pitcher and utility player. He threw 12.2 innings last summer, allowing 12 hits and seven walks. At the dish, Tucker had a .306 batting average and two RBIs in 49 at-bats. Of those 15 hits, three were extra base hits with two doubles and a triple.
At Hendrix College, he started in 18 games in 2020, and led the team in hits and walks with 22 and 13 respectively. He also contributed nine RBIs and one homerun but did not have a single appearance on the mound. Dating back to high school, Tucker was a two-time All-Conference and one-time All-State selection for Bryant High School in Arkansas.

 

 

1B Michael Morisette, 6’5”, (L/L), Junior, Miami (Ohio)

Morisette played 65 games last summer for the Bombers, recording 42 hits and 28 walks. The Frisco, Texas, native finished with a batting average of .227, with 21 RBIs and a homerun.
As a Redhawk, Morisette played in nine games this past season, with six hits in 15 at-bats, which was good for a .400 batting average. In those games, he also walked twice and recorded four runs. This was Morisette’s first season at Miami University (Ohio).
In his first two seasons of college baseball, Morisette played for Tyler Junior College. In 2019, he hit .299 and helped lead his team to a Junior College World Series appearance.

 

 

 

 

3B/RHP Jack Merrifield, 6’0”, (R/R), Sophomore, Louisiana State University-Eunice

Merrifield hit .246 in 46 games last summer for the Bombers with 15 RBIs, five walks and 27 strikeouts. He also helped out on the mound, pitching in eight games. In those games, he threw 8.1 innings and struck out four batters.
For the Bengals, he played in 20 games and had an impressive .467 batting average, which was second best on the team. Merrifield struckout just four times and walked seven. He would tack on 32 RBIs and come around to score on 27 occasions. The sophomore did not make an appearance on the mound in 2020.

 

 

 

 

OF Trace Peterson, 6’2”, (R/R), Junior, Lake Erie College

Peterson returns to the Bombers after a 2019 in which he had a .259 batting average. Peterson would contribute eight doubles, 16 RBIs and 19 runs to Battle Creek last summer.
With Lake Erie College, Peterson played in all 10 games of the shortened 2020 season. In the games, he hit .314 with an on base percentage of .390. Of his 11 hits, three of them were doubles. Peterson generated five RBIs and runs. In his three year career with the Storm, he has a slash line of .340/.426/.605 in 101 games played.
Peterson holds numerous accolades including First-Team All Ohio and Medina County MVP in high school. In 2019, Peterson was Second-Team All-Conference, as he led the Storm in runs scored, doubles, homeruns, RBIs, batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage.
