TRAVERSE CITY, M.I.- The Pit Spitters once again put up a big run total against the Bombers Thursday night thanks in part to four RBI by Camden Traficante.

The  Pit Spitter shortstop went 2-4. His two-run single in the second started the scoring and his two-run double in the third broke the game open making it 4-0. The Pit Spitters scored four in the third off Bombers starter Nolan Lamere who gave up eight runs in four innings with four of those runs being unearned. The Pit Spitters also added two in the fourth on RBIs from Tito Flores and Miles Simington.

The Bombers were shutout for the second time this season, both times by the Pit Spitters. Battle Creek had just six hits and stranded seven runners on base. Traverse City got good starting pitching from Cam Scheulke who threw six shutout innings giving up just four hits striking out two.

The Pit Spitters used two arms out of the bullpen as Joe Horoszko and William Mabrey combined for three strikouts in three innings. The Bombers bullpen was the lone bright spot for the club. Jack Merrifield threw two scoreless innings striking out one and Adam Gonzalez did the same out of the pen.

The Pit Spitters have now outscored the Bombers 37-7 in three games this series and in nine games between the two teams, Traverse City has now outscored the Bombers 78-25.

Traverse City has now won five in a row while Battle Creek has dropped three straight. These two teams will wrap up the four-game set tomorrow with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
