Battle Creek, MI – The Battle Jacks have added three Middle Georgia State teammates to their inaugural roster. With a brand new name and logo, the Battle Jacks have begun signing players to the team. Manager Caleb Lang is assembling a team he believes will represent the identity of the city of Battle Creek. He has started by adding three MGA Knights. Garrett Martin, Caleb Lanoux and Derick Stager will all suit up for the Battle Jacks this summer. They have all helped lead the Knights to a Top 20 ranking nationally in the NAIA.
Garrett Martin is a right-handed pitcher and graduate senior at MGA. Originally from Gypsum, Colorado, Martin started his collegiate career at Marian University (Fond du Lac, WI) before transferring to MGA for his senior season. Martin is familiar with the Northwoods League as he pitched for Green Bay in both 2019 and 2020. Through seven appearances this season, Martin has a 3.20 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 39.1 innings pitched. The 6’3″ right-hander is sure to be a staple in the Battle Jacks starting rotation this summer.

A native of Fleming Island, FL, Lanoux is expected to come out of the bullpen for the Battle Jacks. In his 15 appearances this season at MGA, Lanoux has a 2.21 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 20.1 innings pitched.
Finally, Derick Stager is the lone position player from MGA joining Battle Creek. Stager will be behind the plate for the Battle Jacks, where he will be catching for plenty of his own Knights teammates. Stager is originally from Tarpon Springs, FL and comes from a family of athletes. His sisters both played softball at Florida State University. Stager has played 19 games for MGA this season and has posted a .254 batting average and .990 fielding percentage.
