Kenosha, WI–The Battle Jacks were going for the series win tonight against the Kingfish. They were also looking to avoid their second two game losing streak of the second half. The Battle Jack bats have started the second half cold, scoring more than four runs just one time. They needed them to show up to give the pitching staff some run support. Neither the offense nor the pitching had their best day as the Battle Jacks dropped this one 10-1 to Kenosha.

The Kingfish got the scoring started in the 1st capitalizing on two early walks, eventually scoring three runs on just one hit in the inning. The Battle Jacks responded in the 3rd when Pat Mills got the two out rally started with a triple to right field. Billy Hancock used a broken bat single to drive him home, giving Battle Creek its first run of the game. The Kingfish wouldn’t stop as in the 3rd they added two more. The walks costed the Battle Jacks again as both runs that scored reached on BB. Kenosha would add two more runs of insurance in the 4th with three straight singles. They would go on to score four more runs to secure the victory. The Battle Jacks were able to get one more in the 8th with a Jace Matkin RBI single.

The loss sends the Battle Jacks to 20-22 and sets them back early in the second half.  They have a shot to gain some ground on the division leading Traverse City Pit Spitters with two in TC. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 7:05 EST.
