Battle Creek, MI–The Battle Jacks were going to have to be perfect against the Growlers if they wanted at least a share of the I-94 Cup this season. However, today the cards were not in their favor. They lost the thunderstorm shortened game 10-1.

It looked like it was going to be a pitcher’s duel through the first couple of innings. The first four innings each team scored one run. The Growlers scored their run in the 2nd, while Battle Creek did so in the 4th with an Aaron Dolney shot to center field. Kalamazoo got two more in the 5th and then exploded in the 7th for seven runs, albeit, on just two hits.

Neither the pitching, nor the hitting was great tonight. The pitching staff allowed 10 runs on just six hits due to double digit walks. Meanwhile, the offense only mustered three hits.

The Battle Jacks are at it again tomorrow in Kalamazoo to try and right the ship. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
