BATTLE CREEK, MI — After a lengthy rain delay that extended into Tuesday, the Battle Jacks dropped their third consecutive game against the Kenosha Kingfish 6-0.
The Kenosha Kingfish got off to a perfect start on Monday night at MCCU, taking an early lead as Jackson Brewer stole home to open the scoring.
The Kingfish kept on coming in the second as they added another run to their total, taking a 2-0 lead, off Noah Brandt’s RBI single.
Kenosha kept on rolling on Monday night as Brian Gould’s RBI single gave the Kingfish a 3-0 lead.
The game resumed on Tuesday at 3:05 pm, following a long rain delay that lasted until the following afternoon.
Hunter Snyder’s RBI putout extended the Kingfish lead to 4-0 earlier in the game resumption.
The seventh inning saw some poor defence from the Battle Jacks after nearly picking J.R. Nelson, the Battle Jacks overthrew Hunter Snyder heading home to extend their lead to 5-0, while Nelson advanced to third.
The Kingfish extended their lead in the ninth as an RBI triple from Luke Landrus gave them a commanding 6-0 lead.
After the second rain delay of the game the Battle Jacks and Kingfish concluded the game in the ninth inning at 7:05pm.
The Battle Jacks return to action later Tuesday evening as they conclude their two-game series against the Kingfish, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
