BATTLE CREEK, MI — The Battle Creek Battle Jacks were unable to hold on to an early lead and lost heartbreakingly to extend the losing streak to seven games.

The Battle Jacks got off to a hot start on Tuesday, scoring in the first inning of the second half to take an early 1-0 lead courtesy of an RBI single from our All-Star Jake Stedman. 

Fond Du Lac, however, responded in the second inning, scoring two runs of their own to take a 2-1 lead, but that was short-lived as the Battle Jacks exploded for offence, scoring four runs in the third to take a 5-2 lead, as RBI’s from Jake Stedman, Brendan Thompson, and AJ Lucas gave the Battle Jacks the lead.

The Battle Jacks continued their offensive surge in the fourth as they added two more runs from Jake Stedman’s third RBI of the game and Brendan Thompson to take a 7-2 lead. 

The Dock Spiders cut the lead down to four in the sixth as an RBI from Carson Willis made it 7-3.

Fond Du Lac tied the game in the seventh, scoring four runs, highlighted by an RBI triple from Carson Willis, adding his fourth RBI of the contest.  

The Battle Jacks took the lead in the bottom of the eighth to make it an 8-7 game off Jake Stedman’s fourth RBI of the game. 

The Dock Spiders came all the way back in the ninth inning, scoring six runs to take an 13-8 lead, as the Battle Jacks head into the bottom of the ninth looking for an answer.

The Battle Jacks show some fight in the bottom of the ninth scoring one run to lose 13-9.

The Battle Jacks are back in action on Wednesday as they close out their homestand against the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders with first pitch scheduled for 7:05.
