BATTLE CREEK, MI — The Battle Creek Battle Jacks played solid defensively; however, it was not enough as they lost the series against the Traverse City Pit Spitters 2-1.
The Battle Jacks stormed out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, but it was their lone run of the game.
The Pit Spitters tied the game in the fifth inning, scoring off an RBI sacrifice fly by Sean Martinez.
Pitchers on both ends were solid as they kept the game tied at one until the Pit Spitters broke the tie in the top half of the ninth inning.
The Battle Jacks are back in action on Friday as they host a doubleheader against the Rockford Rivets with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 pm.
