The Battle Jacks Extend Their Winning Streak to 3 With Win Over Rivets

BATTLE CREEK, MI — The Battle Jacks kept the momentum rolling from their two-game sweep over the Rivets on Friday, as they scored early and often to defeat the Rivets on Saturday.

The Battle Jacks struck in the first inning off an RBI sacrifice fly by Thomas Cooper to score speedster Marcus Dierks as the Battle Jacks went up 1-0. 

The Rivets tied the game in the fourth inning off an RBI walk from Gavin Taylor, as the Battle Jacks were looking to regain the lead. 

The fifth inning saw the Rivets add two more runs to their score, as they took their sole lead of the game to take a 3-1 lead.

The sixth inning saw the Battle Jacks respond and score three runs of their own, from RBI’s from Jake Stedman and Gehrig Goldbeck.

AJ Lucas added an insurance run to the Battle Jacks as they took a 5-3 lead heading into the ninth inning.

The Battle Jacks are back in action on Sunday with first pitch scheduled at 5:05 pm.
