BATTLE CREEK, MI — This game between the Battle Creek Battle Jacks and the Green Bay Rockers was back and forth and close throughout the entirety of the contest, but Green Bay pulled away in the 10th inning to secure the series sweep.
The offence got rolling in the third inning, as the Rockers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before the Battle Jacks responded in the bottom half of the inning off Dayne Wimberly’s two-RBI home run.
Battle Creek then took the lead in the fifth inning off an RBI single from Gehrig Goldbeck as the Battle Jacks erased the 2-0 lead to take the 3-2 lead.
The Rockers tied the contest at three late in the game, as an RBI sacrifice fly from Jeremy Delamota evened the score.
As the game headed into extra innings, the game remained tight on both ends, with one costly mistake likely proving to be the difference-maker.
The 10th inning saw the Rockers score two runs before shutting the door as they secured the victory.
The Battle Jacks are back in action on Saturday as they face off against the Kalamazoo Growlers, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
