Christopher Fletcher Returns to Lead Battle Jacks in 2027
By Riya Amin | August 27th, 2026
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks are excited to announce the return of Christopher Fletcher as Field Manager for the 2027 season.
Fletcher brought the energy, passion and leadership that Battle Creek was looking for throughout the 2026 season, helping establish a culture built around grit, community and a genuine love for the game of baseball.
When Scott Miles took ownership of the Battle Jacks in 2025, he had one simple goal: baseball. But not just any kind of baseball. He wanted to create an organization built on grit and blue-collar baseball, where players were challenged to grow, where the community felt connected to the team, and where the love for the game was evident every night at MCCU Field.
Fletcher embodied that vision.
Through the highs and lows of the season, Fletcher consistently encouraged his players and pushed them to become better teammates, better baseball players and better people. His passion for player development was evident throughout the summer, as he worked to prepare players not only for their time in Battle Creek, but for the next steps in their college baseball careers.
That commitment helped create something special in 2026.
Ten Battle Jacks players became the Ironmen of the summer, appearing in every game of the season from start to finish. In summer collegiate baseball, that level of consistency and commitment is rare. But playing for a coach like Chris Fletcher makes players want to stay, compete and be part of something bigger.
Fletcher’s impact went beyond the field. He helped establish the type of culture the Battle Jacks want to continue building in Battle Creek, one centered around accountability, development, toughness, and community.
As the Battle Jacks look toward the 2027 season, bringing Fletcher back is another step in building on the foundation established in 2026.
The culture is growing. The standard is rising. And Battle Creek baseball is just getting started.
Welcome back, Coach Fletcher.
