Kenosha, Wis. – The Bombers had a chance to make it eight straight wins in game one of their series at Kenosha, but the Kingfish rallied down two runs in the ninth to win 6-5.

Battle Creek (7-2) jumped off to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning, thanks to RBIs from Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech), Nikola Vasic (McHenry County College), and Nick Walker (Austin Peay). 

Bombers starter Dylan Givens (John A. Logan) would give another quality start in his second appearance of the season, lasting 6.1 innings allowing three runs on four hits. 

The Kingfish (6-3) wouldn’t back down, as they would put a two runs in the bottom half of the fourth.  They would get another run in the fifth to make it a one run game. 

Vasic tried to help the cause with a solo home run in the eighth, his first of the season.  He would end the game going 2-4 at the plate.

Stoffel, who went 2-5 and his Virginia Tech teammate JD Mundy who went 2-3, also led the Bombers.  Jordan McDonough (John A. Logan) recorded his second multi-hit game of the summer.

Kenosha down two runs would enter the ninth inning with only four hits in the game.  They managed five in the home half, as outfielder Connor Doyle (University of San Diego) would come up with the game-winning RBI-single.
