The Bombers completed their sweep of the Eau Claire Express Friday night in a 5-2 victory and handing them their fifth straight loss.

Both teams scored a run in the first, but it was Battle Creek who jumped ahead in the third when Bryce Redeker slammed his fourth homerun of the season out of the actual stadium. Dan Dispensa doubled in the fourth, scoring Jordan Dean, and Danny Rockett scored from third when Troy White walked with the bases loaded. The Bombers final run came across in the eighth when White got his second RBI credit on a single into right field.

Troy White took a no-hitter into the sixth inning for Battle Creek in the starting role and wasn’t yanked until two outs were recorded in the eighth inning. In the effort, he allowed two unearned runs and just three hits, fanned five and didn’t surrender a single walk. Kristian Calibuso, after two unsuccessful attempts, finally notched his sixth save.

The Bombers now visit the division-leading Madison Mallards for a weekend set before heading on to Wausasu to play the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Fans can listen to the games live online at www.battlecreekbombers.com with Voice of the Bombers, Greg Talbott, calling the action.
