The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters snapped the Bombers four-game streak Wednesday night at Witter Field in an 11-4 win, splitting the series 1-1.
The Rafters scored single runs in the first and second inning before breaking the game open in the fourth inning when they brought three runs across and another four in the sixth. The Bombers finally got on the board in the seventh with a pair of runs off a Danny Rockett double, and scored two more in the ninth when Bryce Redeker launched another homerun, his second in three days.
Alex Loftin surrendered the first five runs through four innings before the bullpen completed the effort, sending in Ben Ballantine (in his first appearance since injury), Scott Simmons, and Chad Jasman finished the job.
With the season series now in favor of Battle Creek, 5-2, the Witter field series wraps up Thursday before the Rafters follow the Bombers home for a pair at C.O Brown Stadium.
