Two Huskers to La Crosse

(LA CROSSE, WI) Freshmen Boomer Collins and Kash Kalkowski from the University of Nebraska are headed to the La Crosse Loggers.

Collins, a Waxahachie, Texas native, is one of the Huskers top recruits who has the athleticism and ability to play both the infield and outfield. The 6-0, 185 pound freshman was named an honorable mention Louisville Slugger All-American this past season at Waxahachie High School. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Collins also played basketball and was the starting quarterback and
safety on the football team.

Kash Kalkowski (pronounced Kal-cow-ski) is a 6-1, 195 pound right-hander that was rated the number two prospect in the state of Nebraska coming out of high school by Perfect Game and turned down an offer from the Tampa Bay Rays last spring after they selected him in the 49th round. The Rawlings and Louisville Slugger pre-season all-American also swept the state player of the year award trifecta handed out by Gatorade, the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star.
