Robertson Returns to Honkers for 3rd Season

(ROCHESTER, MN) The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced that Zach Robertson, a 6’1”, 195-pound junior left-handed pitcher from the University of Iowa, will return for his third season on the mound for the Honkers. Robertson was the Honkers Pitcher of the Year in 2008 and also the team’s Most Inspirational Player in 2007. 

Robertson finished the 2008 Honkers season 4-3 with a 2.52 ERA. He led the Northwoods League with 97 strikeouts and tied for the league lead with 12 starts. Robertson was named a North Division Mid-Season All-Star and named to the 2008 NWL Post Season All-Star Team.

Over his two seasons with the Honkers, Robertson is the career record holder for ERA (2.63), Strikeouts (171) and Games Started (23).

Robertson began his collegiate playing experience for Iowa Central Community College for two years before moving on to Iowa. He finished his career at ICCC with 161 total strikeouts, ranking him 2nd in school history. 

A native of Des Moines, IA, Robertson is pursuing a Health and Sports Studies major at Iowa.
