FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Date: March 16, 2009

Loggers Add Two From North Florida

(LA CROSSE, WI) The La Crosse Loggers continued their roster-building push for the 2009 season as team officials announced the signings of a pair of players from the University of North Florida. Infielder Andrew Hannon, a junior shortstop, and outfielder/pitcher Justin Preckajlo, also a junior, will dawn the Logger green this summer.

Hannon is coming off of a fabulous sophomore campaign in 2008 in which he ranked second on the team in batting average at .359 and second in RBI’s with 44 along with committing only 6 errors from his shortstop position. The Jacksonville, FL native also
led the Ospreys in multiple RBI games (14) and was third on the club with a .422 on-base percentage.

Preckajlo, a 5-9, 185 pound outfielder from Atlantic Beach, Fla. also has the ability to pitch out of the bullpen. The right-hander was a standout at Florida CC at Jacksonville.

Both players have the unique opportunity of playing for 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Dusty Rhodes and former Rochester Honkers field manager Greg Labbe. Rhodes has 33 total seasons as a manager in which he has amassed over 1,400 wins. The last 21 seasons have been at North Florida where he has guided them to 16 post-season appearances in Division II and now has led the program into Division I competition. Northwoods League fans will remember Labbe all too well, most notably when he guided the 2006 Honkers to a record-setting 50 victories and a NWL Championship.
