Pinckard and Two Others Headed to Eau Claire from Baylor
(EAU CLAIRE, WI) Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced three commitments from Baylor University. They include returning utility man Brooks Pinckard along with newcomers Jon Ringenberg and Trent Blank. The trio brings the Express roster to eight.
Pinckard filled a variety of roles for the Express in 2008, seeing time in the infield, outfield and on the mound. He finished with a .298 batting average to go along with three triples, 22 steals, and 29 runs batted in. On the mound, Pinckard had a record of 0-2 with two saves and a 2.08 earned run average. So far this spring, Pinckard has a 3-0 record with a 3.60 ERA in 10 innings of relief. At the plate he’s batting .279 with five extra-base hits and nine RBI in 17 games.
Ringenberg is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore pitcher and infielder. Last season, he compiled a .277 batting average with nine RBI’s in 47 at-bats. Ringenberg has made four appearances on the mound compiling a 6.00 ERA in 12 innings. Varsho plans to use Ringenberg as both a pitcher and infielder for the Express.
Blank is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound freshman pitcher. He posted a 19-5 record with a 1.76 ERA in his career at Columbia (Ill.) High School. Blank is 1-0 this spring in eight appearances for the Bears.
