FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: April 15, 2009
Express Add Two Freshman
(EAU CLAIRE, WI) Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced the addition of freshman pitchers Rudy Jaramillo and Louis Head to his 2009 roster. The two most recent commitments bring the Express roster to 16.
Jaramillo is a 6-foot, 170-pound left-hander from New Mexico. He helped lead the Marcos de Niza Padres to the Arizona 5A-II Championship as a junior in 2007 and received all-state honorable mention honors as a senior. The Chandler, AZ native has a 2-0 record in 12 appearances covering 20.1 innings pitched this spring for the Lobos. Jaramillo is the second New Mexico player to commit to the Express this year, joining teammate Rafael Neda.
Head is a 6-foot, 170-pound right-hander from Texas Tech. He earned all-district honors as both a sophomore and junior at Cinco Ranch High School after registering a 10-5 record and 2.01 earned run average in those two seasons. Head sees Eau Claire and the Northwoods League as a good place to advance his career.
“I chose to play in Eau Claire because I heard it is a great atmosphere for baseball. I look forward to playing in the Northwoods League because it is known as one of the top summer leagues in the country and I will be playing against a lot of talented players.”
In 12 appearances (two starts) for the Red Raiders, Head has a record of 1-2 with a 5.57 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched.
