Bucks Add Hawaii Pitcher

(WATERLOO, IA) The Waterloo Bucks announced the signing of University of Hawaii freshman Lenny Linsky. The 6’3″, 180-pound right-hander becomes the sixth pitcher added to the 2009 staff.

Linsky is 1-1 with a 6.94 ERA in eight appearances this spring.

The 2008 graduate of Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills Estates, California earned three letters in baseball and received Most Outstanding Player and Captain’s Award after his senior season.

Bucks field manager Pete Lauritson is excited about the talent that Linsky brings.

“Coach Koneshi at Hawaii recommended Linsky to us very early in the recruiting season and G.M. Dan Corbin targeted him as a player that we wanted in a Bucks uniform,” said Lauritson. “He is a right-handed power arm that one scout I talked to had him as high as 94 mph on the radar gun. I really hope this summer will help him develop as a pitcher.”

The Palos Verdes, California native was ranked the 146th top draft prospect out of California by Baseball America in 2008.
