Honkers Sign Second Duck, Add Shocker

(ROCHESTER, MN) The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced the signing of Danny Pulfer, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound freshman infielder from the University of Oregon. Pulfer is the second Duck on the Honkers squad this summer.

Currently Pulfer is hitting .248 with 13 RBI for the Oregon Ducks. He has started every game at second base this season for the 13-25 Ducks.

Pulfer graduated with honors from Cypress High School, Cypress, CA in 2008. As a senior he was an All-Empire, All-County and All-CIF selection after hitting .485 with 3 home runs and 24 stolen bases. Pulfer joins fellow Duck, Mitch Karraker on the team this summer.

Wichita State Pitcher Signs

The Honkers also announced the signing of Brian Flynn, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound freshman left-handed pitcher from Wichita State University. 

Currently Flynn is 1-4 with a 5.93 ERA for the 20-20 Wichita State Shockers. He has struck out 44 in 41.0 innings of work and is holding opponents to a .256 batting average.

Flynn graduated Owasso High School in Owasso, OK where he finished his senior season 9-1 with a 0.79 ERA. He struck out 126 in 70.2 innings and walked 21. Over his prep career, Flynn was named to the All-Conference team, named Metro Pitcher-of-the-Year, All-State and All-State Player-of-the-Year. He was also a pre-season All-American and named a Louisville Slugger All-American. Flynn was heavily recruited by Oklahoma and Nebraska before choosing Wichita State.
