Woodchucks Add a Battery

(WAUSAU, WI) The Wisconsin Woodchucks recently announced the signings of pitcher Brandon Koenigstein and catcher Josh Ludy. Koenigstein is a freshman at Creighton University and Ludy is a freshman at Baylor University.

Koenigstein is a 6’0”, 180-pound right-handed pitcher for the Bluejays (21-18 overall). The Waterloo, Illinois native carries a3-0 record through ten appearances (one game started). He has displayed outstanding control this spring as he has struck out 18 and walked only five hitters through 23.2 innings pitched. Koenigstein will be joined in Wausau this summer by current Bluejays teammates Carson Vitale, Jimmy Swift, and Jonas Dufek.

Ludy has played in 15 games for the 25-14 Baylor Bears.. The switch-hitting true freshman catcher is hitting .350 in 20 at-bats this spring. In his limited playing time Ludy has shown his power in the batters box by slugging four doubles and a two home runs. He was a three-time first-team all-conference selection at Jay County High School in Portland, Indiana. He holds his high school’s career records in batting average (.460) and home runs (34).
