Express Return Two, Announce New Radio Outlet

(EAU CLAIRE, WI) Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced the addition of UW-Oshkosh outfielder Nolan Fadness and Texas Tech pitcher Robbie Kilcrease to his 2009 roster. The pair of sophomores brings the Express roster to 18.

Fadness returns for his second season with the Express and is an Eau Claire native and graduate of Eau Claire Memorial High School. He was a mid-season addition last summer and finished with a .281 batting average and 21 runs scored in 96 at-bats. Fadness enjoyed having the opportunity to play in front of a familiar crowd last summer.

“Playing in front of hometown fans is awesome. You always feel like the fans are on your side. Eau Claire has great fans in whatever sport you play and that helps a lot when you are on the field. It’s a great situation to be in to play against great competition and have your hometown fans right there with you.”

Fadness is batting .344 with 39 runs scored in 32 games this spring and is a big reason the Titans are currently in first place in the WIAC Conference.

Kilcrease also returns for his second summer in Eau Claire. The left-hander finished with a 4-3 record and a 3.84 earned run average in 10 starts in his first summer in an Express uniform. Kilcrease ranked second on the Express staff with 61 innings pitched. The Round Rock, TX native has posted a 3-1 record in 15 appearances (four starts) this spring for the Red Raiders.

Scottt Montesano will be returning for his fourth season as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Express. Montesano has been, among other things, the play-by-play announcer for two baseball teams in the New England Collegiate Baseball League and two hockey teams in the North American Hockey League since 2003. Most recently, he was named General Manager of the North Iowa Outlaws hockey team of the NAHL.
