Woodchucks Sign Wright State Outfielder

(WAUSAU, WI) Ryan Ashe, a redshirt freshman at Wright State University, will be patrolling the outfield for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer. After redshirting last spring, Ashe is now seeing extensive playing time in centerfield for the Raiders (22-22).

Ashe (5’10”, 170 lbs) is a native of Huber Heights, Ohio. He is hitting .324 this season in 43 games (including 38 starts). The Raiders have moved the left-handed hitting Ashe to the top of the order in recent games. While in high school he was named the Miami Valley Baseball Coaches Association’s Defensive Player of the Year and was on the All-Area First Team during his junior and senior seasons.
