‘Chucks Bring Back 2008 NWL All-Star

WAUSAU, WI – May 4th, 2009 – Bobby Pritchett, a mid-season and postseason Northwoods League All-Star last season, will return to Wausau and play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer.  Pritchett is in his junior year at the University of Central Arkansas.

Pritchett, a 5’9” righty, was the ace of the Woodchucks pitching staff last year.  He was the team leader in games started (11) and innings pitched (70.2).  The Garland, Texas native finished with a 2.04 ERA (6th lowest in NWL) and 67 strikeouts (tied for 4th best in NWL).  Pritchett also played 32 games in the outfield and hit .254 for the ‘Chucks.

Pritchett is currently having an outstanding season as a two-way player for the UCA Bears.  As of the games played through April 26th, he is third on the squad with a .339 batting average and leads the team with five triples.  In addition to playing some middle infield for the Bears this spring, he has made 15 appearances and six starts on the mound.  As one of the team’s top starting pitchers, Pritchett (3-4 record) has tossed 49.2 innings while striking out 47 and walking 21.
