Battle Creek, MI – The Battle Creek Bombers are pleased to announce the signings of three more players to their 2009 roster. Pitchers Matt Talley and Chance Hill, along with outfielder Ray Anderson, will join the Bombers for the 2009 season.     

Talley is a big (6’6” and 227 lb.) sophomore left hander who pitches for The Citadel (Charleston, SC) this spring. Matt is currently leading the Bulldogs with an 8-1 mark and 3.12 ERA in 17 appearances (9 starts) in 2009. He leads the Southern Conference with 10 pickoffs and has yielded 62 hits in 66.1 innings.

Hill, 6’3” and 175 pounds, is a freshman pitcher for Neosho County Community College (Chanute, KS) of the Jayhawk Conference. The southpaw recently finished his season for the Panthers, finishing with a 2-5 record and 5.39 ERA in 9 starts, striking out 39 over 49.1 innings.

Anderson is a freshman outfielder for Kennesaw State (Kennesaw, GA) who was red shirted for the 2009 season. At 5’10” 175 pounds, Ray was chosen in the 45th round of the Major League Amateur Player Draft by the Kansas City Royals in 2008 following a stellar high school career at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia.

The Bombers open the 2009 season on May 28th when they play host to the Duluth Huskies at C.O. Brown Stadium. It’s Thirsty Thursday ($1 beer and soda) with the first 500 adults (21 and over) to receive a special Thirsty Thursday t-shirt courtesy of Keystone Light.
