Former La Crosse Loggers’ outfielder Brett Jackson became a part of the first tandem of first round picks in Northwoods League history when the Chicago Cubs chose him 31st overall. He joins Tony Sanchez who was selected as the first overall pick earlier in the day. Both players were in the Northwoods League during the 2007 season.
Jackson hit .343 with 2 home runs, 15 RBI and 9 stolen bases in 42 games for the Loggers in 2007. He fell eight plate appearances shy of qualifying for the league leaders in batting. His .343 average would’ve placed him fifth in the Northwoods League.
