With one out and the game tied at 3 in the top of the eigth inning former Mankato Masher (2001) Curtis Granderson drilled a triple off of the left field wall. He then scored on a sacrifice fly to put the American League on top. The run proved to be the game winner as the American League was victorious 4-3. Fellow NWL alum Ben Zobrist (Wisconsin 2004) was on deck at the time and was their to congratulate Granderson on his way into the dugout.
