Brainerd’s Michael Kvasnicka (Minnesota) and Madison’s Jerrud Sabourin (Indiana) have been added to the Northwoods League All-Star rosters. They replace Alexandria’s Tim Roberson (Florida Gulf Coast) and Madison’s Mark Ginther (Oklahoma St.) who will not be able to participate.
In 33 games, Kvasnicka is hitting .333 with 43 hits and 20 RBI, all of which are team highs. His slugging percentage stands at .388 thanks to four doubles and a home run. The strong-armed, switch-hitting catcher/outfielder joined the Lunkers on June 8th against Alexandria. He quickly made his presence known with a walk-off 2-RBI single in the 10th inning against the Beetles on June 9th.
The versatile Sabourin has made 21 starts in left field and 14 starts at first base for the Mallards. The left-handed hitting Hoosier is batting .290 with 4 doubles, one home run, and 13 RBI thus far for the Mallards. On the road Sabourin is hitting .333 (22-for-66) with 7 RBI.
The pair will now head to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada for the Northwoods League All-Star Game to be played on Tuesday, July 21 at 5:05 p.m. (CST).
