(ROCHESTER, MN) Throughout the day Tuesday fans of the Northwoods League will be able to log on to NorthwoodsLeague.tv to view the Scouting Combine and Home Run Derby in addition to the 15th Annual NWL All-Star Game.
The Northwoods League is excited to announce the webcasting schedule for the 2009 NWL All-Star festivities on Tuesday, July 21st live from Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. For the first time, all of the on-field events will be viewable in their entirety on NorthwoodsLeague.tv. As always, fans will be able to view the action free of charge. The afternoon begins with the scouting combine broadcast at noon eastern time. The home run derby broadcast will get underway at 3:55 p.m. eastern and the All-Star Game broadcast will begin at 5:45 p.m. leading up to the scheduled 6:05 p.m. first pitch.
The game broadcast will also be heard on AM 1390 The Fan in St. Cloud, MN and on the internet at 1390thefan.com.
NWL Director of Operations Curt Carstensen will anchor the commentating of the scouting combine and home run derby as well as call the play-by-play for the All-Star Game. Carstensen spent five seasons with the Alexandria Beetles as the team’s play-by-play announcer before his work in the Northwoods League Front Office. He’s also called games for the University of Minnesota Women’s Hockey and Baseball and a wide variety of sports at St. Cloud State University. Assisting Carstensen with the broadcast will be current broadcasters from the Battle Creek Bombers and the Mankato MoonDogs; Joseph Zakrzewski and JJ Hartigan. They will be providing commentary and interviews from the field during the different events. A wide variety of guests will join the broadcasts throughout the day.
The Northwoods League plays more games than, draws more fans than, and plays in venues superior to any Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. The League is currently in its 16th season of action.
