Despite not receiving a win for his efforts the performance by Madison’s starting pitcher Matt Jansen (Purdue) shouldn’t be overlooked. Jansen was extremely sharp throughout in throwing 7.1 innings while only allowing one run to lower his ERA to 2.62. He also struck out a season-high 11 batters in the no-decision. The Mallards were victorious 4-1 over Waterloo in 10 innings.
