The Green Bay Bullfrogs are proud to announce they will host the United States Military All-Stars Baseball Team as they battle All-Stars from the Northeast Wisconsin Baseball League at Joannes Stadium on July 30th at 6:35 p.m. The U.S. Military All-Stars are a touring baseball team of both retired and active military members.

“The entire Bullfrogs organization is honored to host this prestigious event,” Owner and President Jeff Royle said. “We hope everyone in our community will come out and honor our military through America’s pastime.”

The U.S. All-Stars are the largest growing, most successful, and only joint armed forces baseball program in the world. The team tours over 40 states and six countries providing the finest patriotic atmosphere possible, while still delivering a highly competitive once-in-a-lifetime experience fans will not forget.

The U.S. team is comprised of members from all facets of the United States Armed Forces, as well as first responders and the Intelligence Community. The team boasts players from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard.

The team receives more than 350 appearance requests per year as they make routine stops at Minor League parks. The team has yet to face a Minor League team, but instead use the facilities to play teams like the Northeast Wisconsin Baseball League All-Stars.

There is a familiar connection between the military and baseball as Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, and many others have traded in their uniforms to fight for their country.

So far this season the U.S. team has a 19-2 record. The record isn’t as astonishing as you may think because in past seasons they have posted 20-plus seasons on a regular basis. On average, 10 percent of all the U.S. players go on to play professionally.

Of the many impressive things about the U.S. team, it is unlike any other because the players play during their leave time from the military. Just like the military itself, the team is always in flux, with players joining the team for as little as an inning before they must return to service.

The Northeast Wisconsin Baseball League contains seven teams from around the area – Appleton Legends, De Pere Bandits, Green Bay Storm, Little Chute River Bandits, Manitowoc Bandits, Menasha Macs, and Sheboygan A’s. Teams are comprised of players mostly from colleges around the state.

All reserved tickets for this event will be available for $5 on a first come, first served basis and tickets for the Leinies Northwoods Fan Deck will be reduced to $15 (regular price $25) for the first 300. The game will feature normal Thursday promotions including Miller High Life Light and Razor 94.7 “Thirsty Thursday and UWGB College Night. In addition all Military with a valid Military I.D. will recieve FREE admission. The night will conclude with a post-game FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA..!!
