The Duluth Huskies have hired a former Assistant Coach Daniel Hersey as Field Manager for the 2010 Northwoods League season.

Hersey, currently an assistant coach at Central Florida Community College, and formerly at St. Leo College from 2003 – 2008, brings in a wealth of summer collegiate baseball knowledge as he has served as an assistant coach for the Zephyrhills Snappers in the Florida Collegiate Summer League, the Duluth Huskies in the Northwoods League, and as a Head Coach for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League. Also a Pitching Coordinator for the All American Prospects in Florida, he has coached many of the highest caliber Baseball Prospects in Florida.

“We’re very pleased and excited to bring Daniel back to Duluth,” General Manager Craig Smith said. “We were looking for a coach that brings managing experience coupled with Northwoods League coaching experience. We have no doubt he will put a highly competitive team on the field that the Northland can be proud of.”

A native of Key West, Florida, Coach Hersey played collegiate baseball at Rollins College and the University of West Georgia.

While Coaching in Duluth in 2006, Dan met local teacher Catherine Callahan and the two will also be wed in Duluth this summer.
