The St. Cloud River Bats have announced that Wes Sharp will be the Director of Business Operations for the club in 2010.

“I am very excited about this opportunity,” Sharp said. “The River Bats are one of the top organizations in the Northwoods League. Having the opportunity to be a part of this club is very special to me.”

The St. Cloud State (’09) alumnus began his Northwoods League career in 2008 with the River Bats as their Game Day Operations Coordinator. The following season he was promoted to Assistant General Manager, a position he held through Oct.

“Wes is someone that has worked hard and earned this position,” team Owner Joel Sutherland said. “He knows the team, he knows the area and he does things the right way. We’re excited to have him aboard as our Director of Business Operations and look forward to another successful year.”

Sharp will oversee all of the major business operations that involve the team. Baseball operations will be handled by the River Bats field manager, who is expected be announced in the coming weeks.
