The Northwoods League announced today that on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 the Eau Claire Express will host the 2010 Northwoods League All-Star Game at historic Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI. The announcement comes as the league’s schedule is being finalized for the upcoming 17th season of Northwoods League play.

The Northwoods League All-Star Game has been an annual staple since 1995, the second summer of Northwoods League baseball. Eau Claire will become the 11th different Northwoods League city to host the event.

The game, featuring the top players from each division, will follow the annual home run derby on the night of July 20th. Earlier that day dozens of scouts from Major League Baseball organizations will gather at Carson Park for the Northwoods League player scouting combine. The two-day event will kick off Monday night, July 19th with a banquet to honor the all-stars.

The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. On Wednesday, the Northwoods League expects to make an official announcement of the league’s expansion to a 16th city.
