The St. Cloud River Bats have announced the addition of Ryan Sturm to their front office for 2010.

Sturm, a 2008 graduate of St. Cloud State University, joins the River Bats as their group services and ticket manager for the 2010 season. This will be Sturm’s second season in the league, and first with the River Bats.

“Ryan brings lots of energy and passion to this organization,” said River Bats owner/general manager Joel Sutherland. “His education, experience and baseball background make him a great fit for this position.”

In 2009 Sturm gained Northwoods League experience as the group operations intern for the eventual League Champion Rochester Honkers.

The 2002 graduate of Springfield Public High School in Springfield, Minn. came to St. Cloud State to play football and baseball for the Huskies. After injuries hampered his football career Sturm focused on baseball where he earned numerous accolades including all-conference and academic all-conference honors, along with being named captain of the baseball team his senior year. In 2008 Sturm earned his degree in Recreation and Sports Management with a minor in Coaching.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to join such a great organization,” said Sturm. “The River Bats have been a staple in the St. Cloud community for years and I look forward to being a part of the team.”

Sturm will manage and coordinate group events for the River Bats along with managing ticket services including season tickets, youth events and other group ticketing areas.
