(Thunder Bay, ON) The Thunder Bay Border Cats announced today the signing of
three players for the upcoming 2010 season. Joining the Cats are third baseman P.K. Kitamura, catcher Brooklyn Foster and pitcher Josh Deeg.

Kitamura is native of Hawaii, and plays his collegiate ball at the University of Hawaii. The 6’0″, 200 pound infielder is in his freshman season with the Rainbows. In 31 games this spring, Kitamura is batting .231 with one home run and 11 runs batted in.

Foster is the first Canadian born player to sign with the Cats this season. The 6’1″, 190 pound catcher hails from Langley, BC and is a freshman at Orange Coast College in San Diego, CA. Foster has played in 25 games this spring and is hitting .315 with 10 doubles and 11 RBI’s.

Deeg, from Lake Orion, MI, is a sophomore at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. The 5’10”, 160 pound righthander has appeared in 11 games for the Musketeers and is 2-2 with a 5.67 earned run average.

The Border Cats open the 2010 Northwoods League season at Port Arthur Stadium on June 2nd, at 6:35 p.m. against the Duluth Huskies.
