Rochester 3, Alexandria 2
The Rochester Honkers two run 8th inning was too much for the Alexandria Beetles at Knute Nelson Memorial Park. Both the Honkers and Beetles received great pitching performances from two Northern Sun Intercollegiate pitchers, Bret Mitchell (Minnesota State Mankato) and Shawn Riesgraf (St. Cloud State). The Honkers pitching staff came in relief of Mitchell throwing three innings of one-hit, no run baseball. Rochester received two hit days out of Bryan Karraker (Central Arizona), Mitch Caster (Wichita State) and Devin Thaut (Paradise Valley CC).
Waterloo 9, La Crosse 3
The Waterloo Bucks used a six run fourth inning and a dominant pitching performance to beat the La Crosse Loggers 9-3 in Waterloo on Tuesday. The Bucks were led by lead-off hitter Zach McCool (Iowa) who was 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and one RBI. Waterloo also got two hit performances out of Jake Astor (Southern Arkansas), Brandon Williams (Georgia State) and Tyler Robbins (Dallas Baptist). Jarod Wagoner (Butler) had a no hitter threw 7.0 and eventually threw a complete game five hitter. Tony Mueller went 2-for-4 for the Loggers with a run scored.
Willmar 7, Brainerd 4
The Stingers scored seven runs on ten hits against the Brainerd Area Lakes Lunkers and won 7-4 in Brainerd. Isaac Ballou (Marshall) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk, a steal and a RBI. The Stingers also received a great start from Jeff Barto (Campbellsville) who threw a two hitter over 5.1 innings allowing two runs. Jayson Huett (Northwest Missouri State) earned the save throwing the final 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball.
Battle Creek, Madison
Tonight’s game between the Bombers and Mallards was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on Monday, August 2nd as a day-night doubleheader in Battle Creek.
Thunder Bay, St. Cloud
Tonight’s game in Thunder Bay has been postponed due to rain.
Wisconsin, Eau Claire
Tonight’s Wisconsin Woodchucks game has been postponed due to rain. The game versus the Express scheduled for tonight will be made up on June 15th.
Green Bay, Wisconsin Rapids
Tonight’s 7:05 pm game between the Bullfrogs and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader when the Rafters return to Green Bay on June 15th.
Duluth, Mankato
Tonight’s Duluth Huskies game against Mankato has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a double header in Duluth on Monday, July 26th.
