Alexandria 2, St. Cloud 1
The Alexandria Beetles took the game from the River Bats by a score of 2-1 at Knute Nelson Memorial Park in rain shortened game.  The Beetles out hit the River Bats 6-2 and played error free baseball.  Starting pitcher Andy Cox (Iowa Central CC) threw 5.0 innings of two hit baseball while striking out three.  David Randall (Mercer) threw the final inning of no hit baseball.  Designated hitter Chaz Frank (North Carolina) was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk.  Matt Lewis (St. Scholastica) was the tough luck loser throwing a nice game over 5.0 innings for the River Bats. 

Waterloo 4, La Crosse 2
The 2nd place Waterloo Bucks took Monday night’s game from the La Crosse Loggers 4-2 in front of 2,084 fans.  Starting pitcher Jarod Wagoner (Butler) moved to 3-0 on the season throwing a 7.0 inning, five hit gem.  Zach McCool (Iowa) led the way for the Bucks from the 2nd spot in the line-up going 2-for-4 with one run scored.  Tyler Spillner (Purdue) also was 2-for-4 for the Bucks with an RBI and a run scored.  The Loggers got a nice offensive performance from first basemen Chris O’Dowd (Dartmouth) who was 2-for-4 with a run scored. 

Duluth 4, Willmar 3
The Duluth Huskies beat the Willmar Stingers tonight by a score of 4-3 to separate themselves from the Stingers.  The Stingers (6-6) and Huskies (7-4) are in the middle of the pack in the North Division.  Huskies starting pitcher, Conner Hulse (Harvard), threw 6.0 innings of scoreless baseball to earn the win.  While Jason Whalen (Hillsborough CC) earned the save throwing the final 2.0 innings of two hit baseball.  The Huskies center-fielder, Casey Lytle (Kansas), had a great game out of the lead-off spot going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. 

Brainerd 4, Mankato 3
The Brainerd Area Lakes Lunkers were out-hit by the Mankato MoonDogs 12-10, but won 4-3.  Reliever Brandon Baumgartner (North Dakota) came in relief to get the win for the Lunkers.  Baumgartner threw the final 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball to move the Lunkers to a 6-7 record.  Brainerd’s short-stop, Stephen Wickens (Florida Gulf Coast), was 3-for-4 with one run scored in his first game with the Lunkers.  MoonDog, Jordan Steranka (Penn State), was 3-for-5 with an RBI.   

Rochester 4, Thunder Bay 2
The Rochester Honkers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Thunder Bay Border Cats 4-2.  Monday night’s win means a sweep of the Border Cats for the series.  Bryan Lippincott (Concordia St. Paul) had a great game for the Honkers going 2-for-3 with one run scored and two walks out of the lead-off spot.  The Border Cats lead-off hitter, Tyler Pryor (Fresno Pacific), also had a great game going 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBI.  Ian Kadish (Marshall) earned the win out of the bullpen throwing 2.0 innings of shutout baseball.  Border Cat, Brad Delatte (Nicholls State), took the loss throwing 0.2 innings giving up three earned runs.
