Batting Average
Two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference baseball players have been battling atop the batting average list.  Drew Heithoff (Augustana) is hitting .423 this season which ranks first in the NWL while Willmar native Jordan Smith (St. Cloud State) is hitting .400 for the Stingers.  Brandon King (Oral Roberts) is third in the NWL at .377 for the Wisconsin Woodchucks. 

RBI
St. Cloud short-stop Steve Nyistzor (Rutgers) is leading the NWL in RBI with 34.  The Toms River, NJ native has had a great first half while hitting .322 with 17 extra base hits.  Home run hitter Cody Asche (Nebraska) has 28 RBI while Jordan Smith (St. Cloud State) has 27. 

Home Runs
Steve McGuiggan (Illinois Chicago) of the Eau Claire Express and Scott Schebler (Wichita State) of the Bullfrogs are currently atop the home run list with six apiece.  Six other NWL star’s are in third place on the home run list with five apiece.  Madison and Duluth each have a pair of hitters with five home runs apiece.  The Mallards Kyle Gaedele (Valparaiso) and Harold Riggins (NC State) have started the first half of the season extremely well.  The Duluth Huskies Cody Asche (Nebraska) and Mark Threlkeld (Louisiana Tech) have also started the season hot while teaming up for ten home runs combined. 

Wins
Thunder Bay Border Cat Zak Miller (New Mexico) is having a fantastic year out of the bullpen.  The 6’3’’ righty is currently leading the league in wins with six.  Miller has 17 appearances in 2010 and all have been out of the bullpen.  He has a 2.70 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched.  Starting pitchers Jared Wagoner (Butler/Waterloo), Lindsey Caughel (Stetson/Alexandria), and Matt Flemer (Cal-Berkeley/La Crosse) all are second on the NWL wins list with five.  Flemer is 5-0 on the season in five games started with a 1.49 ERA.  Jared Wagoner, who was 1-6 last year for the Bucks, has turned his NWL statistics around while having a 5-2 record with a 3.26 ERA in 2010. 

Strikeouts
Rochester Honker’s pitcher Mike Strong (Oklahoma State) is striking out NWL batters at an outstanding rate.  Strong strikes out 1.29 batters per inning (44 strike outs in 34 innings pitched) and has a 3-1 record.  Kyle Teague (Oakland) is second on the strike out list with 35 K’s for the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers.  Charley Olson (Georgia State) and Nick Sutherland (Youngstown State) are tied for third with 33 K’s. 

ERA
Waterloo Buck Taylor Massey (Dallas Baptist) has a sub 1.0 ERA at 0.69 in six appearances this season.  Massey is first on the NWL list at 0.69 while Alexandria Beetle Sander Beck (Maryland) is second at 1.25.
