Mankato 6, Brainerd 4
The Mankato MoonDogs jumped out to a four run lead and took the game 6-4 from the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers.  The MoonDogs starter, Blake Schwartz (Minnesota State Mankato), threw 7.0 innings while only giving up two runs.  Tim Fangman earned the save throwing the final 1.0 inning.  Jordan Steranka (Penn State) had three RBI while second basemen Sam Lind had three hits and two runs scored.  Chadd Kristi (California Berkeley) had three hits in the loss. 

Alexandria 7, Thunder Bay 6
It took the Alexandria Beetles and Thunder Bay Border Cats eleven innings to find a winner, but Matt Lowenstein (Loyola Marymount) scored on a fielder’s choice to help the Beetles beat Thunder Bay 7-6.  The Beetles designated hitter Derek Mattea (John A. Logan) had a three hit day to lead the offense.  Beetles reliever Anthony Armanino (Lewis Clark) earned the win throwing the final 1.0 inning without allowing a hit.  Thunder Bay’s Ryan Court (Illinois State) had three hits in the loss.   

Battle Creek 8, Madison 7
Battle Creek found themselves behind the Madison Mallards 6-3 after seven innings of play, but used a four run eight to earn the win.  The Battle Creek Bombers Andrew Lawrence had a huge night at the plate with three hits (a double and a home run), two runs scored and four RBI.  Center fielder Sean Deegan (Penn State) also had three hits and drove in two runs.  The Mallards Rafael Lopez (Florida State) hit a three run homer in the sixth to put the Mallards ahead.  All-Star Harold Riggins (NC State) scored three runs in the loss. 

St. Cloud 7, Willmar 2
St. Cloud found themselves down 2-1, but put up six runs in the fifth to take the game 7-2 on Wednesday night.  The St. Cloud River Bats were led by designated hitter Devon Rodriguez (California Berkeley).  Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI.  The River Bats pitching staff gave up six hits on the night while striking out six and only allowing two runs.  Andy Berry (West Virginia) earned the win which moves him to 4-0 on the 2010 season. 

Wisconsin, Eau Claire
Tonight’s Wisconsin Woodchucks game has been postponed due to rain.  Tonight’s game will be made up tomorrow night at Athletic Park, where the Woodchucks and Express will play a 7 inning double header.  The first pitch will take place at 5:35, and the gates will open at 4:30. 

Rochester, Duluth
The game between the Rochester Honkers and the Duluth Huskies has been suspended due to rain. Rochester had a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third before play was stopped due to lightning. The game will resume at a later date. The Honkers will host the Willmar Stingers tomorrow night at 7:05 PM at Mayo Field in Rochester.

La Crosse, Waterloo
Wednesday night’s game between the La Crosse Loggers and the Waterloo Bucks has been suspended in the top of the third inning with the Loggers winning 2-1.  The game will be made up on Thursday as part of a double-header with the remainder of Wednesday’s game starting at 5:30 pm and the second game being played a half hour after the conclusion of game one. 

Wisconsin Rapids, Green Bay
Heavy wind and rain forced the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters to postpone their scheduled contest with the Green Bay Bullfrogs Wednesday night. The game will be made up as part of a double header when the Bullfrogs come back to town on Tuesday, August 3rd.
