Madison 5, Wisconsin Rapids 4
The Madison Mallards used a perfect night at the plate from Adam Davis (Illinois) to beat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 5-4 in front of 6,750 NWL fans.  Davis was 3-for-3 on the night with two runs scored, one RBI and a homerun.  The Mallards pitching staff was excellent in relief registering the win and the save.  Grant Gordon (Missouri State) threw 0.2 innings to earn the win with J.R. Graham (Santa Clara) throwing the final inning to get the save.  Jenzen Torres (Cal Poly Pomona) had two homeruns on the night in the loss for the Rafters.   

Wisconsin 7, Battle Creek 2
The Wisconsin Woodchucks jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and ended up beating the Battle Creek Bombers 7-2 Saturday night.  The Woodchucks had eight of nine starters register a hit with Eric Fritz going 2-for-4 with one run scored and three RBI.  Woodchuck starting pitching Nick Capito (Santa Barbara) threw 7.0 innings of one run baseball to get the win.  The Bombers Shane Street (Spring Arbor) was 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI in the loss. 

Eau Claire 11, La Crosse 8
The Eau Claire Express and La Crosse Loggers combined to score 19 runs on 21 hits at Carson Park on Saturday night.  The Express took the game 11-8 due to multi-hit games from five Eau Claire batters.  The Express were led by Cal Towey (Baylor) who was a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and a homerun.  All-star centerfielder Steve McGuiggan (Illinois Chicago) had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI.  Mahlon Zimmermann earned the win throwing 1.0 inning of relief.   

Green Bay 12, Waterloo 3
The Green Bay Bullfrogs jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after three innings and took the game 12-3 thanks to solid pitching and a pair of homeruns.  The Bullfrogs starter Tim Shibuya (San Diego) threw 5.2 innings of two-hit baseball to earn the win.  Scott Schebler (Wichita State) and Tom Barry (San Francisco) each hit homeruns to pace to Bullfrog offense.  Landon Anderson (Dallas Baptist) continued his hot hitting with two hits in the loss. 

Brainerd 11, Thunder Bay 6
The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers beat the Thunder Bay Border Cats 11-6 thanks to timely hitting and five defensive miscues by Thunder Bay.  Brainerd knocked out nine hits and used a four RBI day from Vince Bruno to get the win.  The Lunkers Brandon Baumgartner earned the win in relief throwing the final 4.0 innings without allowing a run.  Thunder Bay’s Will Thorp (Lewis-Clark State) had three hits in the loss. 

Mankato 12, Rochester 6
The Rochester Honkers and the Mankato MoonDogs went into extra innings Saturday night.  The Honkers beat the MoonDogs 12-6 in eleven innings in Mankato thanks to a six run eleventh inning.  The Honkers had five players with multi-hit games while designated hitter Ryan Hambright (Oregon) had three RBI.  All-Star Jordan Steranka (Penn State) had three hits in the loss.   

St. Cloud 8, Alexandria 3
The St. Cloud River Bats beat the Alexandria Beetles 8-3 in front of 991 fans at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.  The River Bats offense was clicking as they knocked out 13 hits, five of which were for extra bases.  They were led by Steve Nyisztor (Rutgers who had a three RBI double while Matt Reynolds (Arkansas) had three hits.  J.C. Casey (Missouri State) earned the win while Zac Salfer earned his first save of the season.  The Beetles Tim Roberson (Florida Gulf Coast) had three hits and three RBI in the loss. 

Duluth 5, Willmar 0
The Duluth Huskies received a great pitching performance from Josh Renfro (State College of Florida) who threw an 8.0 inning shutout over the Willmar Stingers.  Renfro scattered seven hits while striking out seven Stingers in front of 1,107 fans.  The Huskies were led offensively by Casey Lytle (Kansas) who was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Scott Sommerfield (Missouri) hit a three run double.  The Stingers Jordan Smith (St. Cloud State) had two hits in the loss to increase his average to .409.
