Wisconsin 13, La Crosse 3
The Wisconsin Woodchuck bats were hot Saturday night as they knocked out 20 hits in a 13-3 victory.  Rob Lind led the way at the plate with a perfect 5-for-5 night with three runs scored and one RBI.  Travis Whitmore and Jamie Bruno each had three hits while Brian Sharp knocked in three runs.  Jason Martyn earned his 1st win of the season as he threw a six hitter thru 5.0 innings.  Mick Doyle was 2-for-3 in the loss for the Loggers. 

Eau Claire 5, Waterloo 1
The Eau Claire Express used a great hitting performance from Nolan Fadness (Wisconsin Oshkosh) and a dominant pitching performance from the pitching staff.  Fadness was 3-for-4 on the night while the pitching staff gave up one run while striking out nine Bucks’.  Drew Freie (DMACC) earned the win after throwing 3.0 innings in relief while striking out three.  Pat Stover was a perfect 4-for-4 in the loss for Waterloo.

Thunder Bay 2, Willmar 1
The Thunder Bay Border Cats beat the Willmar Stingers in a game that could eventually determine the North Division Champion.  The Border Cats only had five hits, but scored one run in the 1st and 4th inning each.  Ken Battiston (Eastern Michigan) had two hits and an RBI in the win.  Chris Pappel (Cornell) earned his 5th win of the season as he threw a five hitter over 7.1 innings while striking out seven Stingers.  Paul Barton (Panola CC) earned the save while throwing 1.2 hitless innings.  Matt Serna (Illinois Chicago) had two hits and a RBI in the loss. 

Wisconsin Rapids7, Battle Creek 6
The Rafters Jesse Arreola (Cal Baptist) threw a great game against the Battle Creek Bombers Saturday night.  Arreola’s 1st 11 outs were all recorded by strikeouts and eventually struck out 14 Bomber hitters.  Jenzen Torres (Cal Poly Pomona) had three hits to lead the Rafters offense.  Ryne Ottis led the Bomber offense in the loss as he had four hits. 

St. Cloud 9, Rochester 7
The St. Cloud River Bats stayed alive in the playoff race as they beat the Rochester Honkers 9-7 in front of 1,490 fans.  Deryk Marks (Augustana) was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI while Devon Rodriguez (California Berkeley) was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.  Ryan Hambright (Oregon) had two hits and three RBI in the loss for the Honkers.   

Madison 11, Green Bay 1
The Madison Mallards kept their playoff chances alive as they beat the Green Bay Bullfrogs 11-1 on Saturday night.  Madison had thirteen hits and committed zero errors in the win.  Rafael Lopez (Florida State) was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI while Kirk Cunningham (Delgado CC) also had three hits.  Estevan Uriegas (Texas A&M) struck out seven while only allowing four hits thru 5.2 innings.  Brad Zapenas (Boston College) had two hits in the loss for the Bullfrogs. 

Duluth 4, Brainerd 1
The Duluth Huskies jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead after the 1st inning and eventually took the game 4-1 in front of 3,444 fans.  The Huskies Mark Threlkeld (Louisiana Tech) was 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI while leadoff hitter Tyler Erickson (Minnesota Duluth) had two hits and scored two runs in the win.  Chris Jensen (San Diego) earned the win while Jason Whalen (Hillsborough CC) earned his 11th save of the season. 

Alexandria 10, Mankato 2
The Mankato MoonDogs lost to the Alexandria Beetles 10-2 Saturday at Franklin Rogers Park.  The MoonDogs were able to get the first run of the game in the first inning but the Beetles were too much for them to handle. Designated hitter David Miller (Purdue) scored both of the MoonDogs’ runs as he went 2-for-4 on the night. Sam Lind (Vanderbilt) also went 2-for-4 with a run batted in.  Pitcher Sam Selman (Vanderbilt) was hit with a line drive early in the game and had to leave. He went 2.2 innings, allowed six runs and received the loss. His opponent on the mound Joey Grzywacz got the win.
