In the top of the fifth inning of Monday night’s playoff clinching regular season finale, Woodchucks P/OF Brock Stassi made an absolutely stunning defensive play in rightfield.

The Woodchucks led 2-0 in a “win or go home” game, when La Crosse’s Mick Doyle came to the plate with one out.  Doyle, facing Woodchucks’ starter Andrew Klausmeier, would send a scorching fly ball the opposite way to deep right field.  While the ball appeared destined to land in the short porch in right field and cut the Woodchucks’ lead in half, Brock Stassi came out of nowhere to leap over the right field fence and make the incredible snag.

The catch gave the ‘Chucks all the momentum, as they would score two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning following the play- eventually going on to win 6-0.

The 6’2” 190-pound P/OF from Nevada’s play was ranked #2 in Sportscenter’s Top plays from Tuesday in the 10:00 PM CT edition, before being moved up to #1 in Sportcenter Los Angeles’ 12:00 PM CT edition.
