Rochester 11, Eau Claire 0
The Rochester Honkers came out with a bang as their backs were against the wall Saturday night at Mayo Field.  The Honkers, who lost to Eau Claire Friday 6-0 Friday, were facing a win or go home game as Phil Haig (Florida International) took the mound.  Haig was dominant as he baffled an Express line-up that was one of the league’s best.  The 6’3’’ left handed pitcher threw 7.0 innings while only allowing four hits in the win.

Rochester was once again led at the plate by Chris Elder (Oral Roberts).  Elder blasted a three-run homer in the 4th inning off Express starter Brad Goldberg (Coastal Carolina).  Elder only had one hit on the night, but managed to drive in three runs, score three runs and walk three times.  Sluggers Matt Dittman (Illinois) and Ryan Hambright (Oregon) were both 2-for-4 with one RBI in the win.

Drew Heithoff (Augustana) kept his hot hitting alive in the loss as he was 2-for-4.

Rochester travels to Eau Claire Sunday to face the Express in the final game of the Summer Collegiate World Series.  The game begins at 3:05 PM at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
