The Waterloo Bucks have announced the hiring of Rudy Darrow as their Pitching Coach for the 2011 season. Currently, Darrow (pronounced DARE-o) is a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Darrow played collegiately for Nicholls State before being drafted in the 32nd round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft by the Detroit Tigers. The Perkins, Oklahoma native played in both the Tigers and Atlanta Braves organizations through 2009. Darrow appeared in 113 games during his four seasons in professional baseball.
"We’re excited to have Rudy serve as our Pitching Coach on our staff this summer," said Bucks’ General Manager Dan Corbin. "His passion for the game and professional baseball playing experience will translate well to our players."
Born February 11, 1984, Darrow will join Manager Jason Nell and Coach Travis Kiewiet on Waterloo’s 2011 coaching staff.
