The Waterloo Bucks announced infielder Andrew Ewing will return to play for the Bucks in 2011. Ewing, a junior at the University of Iowa, is the second player to be named to the Waterloo roster for the team’s 17th season.
Last season, Ewing signed with the Bucks on August 1. The Iowa City, Iowa native made the most of his opportunity with Waterloo, hitting .305 with five RBI, 12 runs, and a .388 on-base percentage in just 17 games.
The 5’11”, 185-pounder hit .290 for the Hawkeyes in 2010, playing in 23 games. Ewing finished his collegiate season with 12 runs scored and a .452 on-base percentage. In Big Ten play alone, Ewing hit .600 with a .750 on-base percentage.
