The University of Illinois at Chicago has sent key players to the Eau Claire Express in the past. This season, field manager Dale Varsho has announced verbal commitments from three more players from UIC.

Sophomore catcher Harry Kammholz, sophomore outfielder Nick Addison and sophomore infielder Ryan Shober have all verbally committed to the Express for the summer of 2011.  UIC has produced key members to the Express in the past, including Andy Leonard, Steve McGuiggan, Nathan Orf and Jason Ganek.

Kammholz is listed at 6’3” and 200 pounds on the UIC team website. He throws right and bats left. In 2010, he appeared in 16 games and hit .212. He made six starts, including five at catcher and one as the designated hitter. In 2011, he has started all seven games at designated hitter. 

Addison is listed at 6 feet 3 inches and 205 pounds. He bats and throws right. In 2010, he appeared in 24 games, including three starts. Addison has appeared in six games in 2011, including three starts in right field.

Shober is listed at 6’0” and 165 pounds. He is an infielder that bats right and throws right. He sat out the 2010 season after transferring to UIC from Valparaiso. Shober has started all seven games this season for UIC at shortstop and is at the top of the team in batting average at .333.

The Express open up the 2011 season June 1, on the road at Wisconsin.
